Nene Pharmacy Ltd

Nene Pharmacy is a busy, semi-rural community pharmacy which is very patient-focused. We have previously had two pre-reg students. We have many experienced staff, good links with the local GP surgeries, and offer a range of services, all of which the pre-reg would be encouraged to take part in. We also offer dedicated study time and experience on the healthcare counter. We treat our pre-reg student as an added bonus to our work staff (i.e. they are supernumerary), which allows them the time they need to develop their skills and concentrate on their studies. We pay for their enrolment onto the Buttercups course, and encourage them to attend the RPS study days (mock exams).

The location of the pharmacy sometimes makes it difficult for us to attract a pre-reg, but please don't let this put you off. You are welcome to come and visit before making a decision!

The duty of the pre-registration pharmacist (salary tbc on application dependent on status) includes:
- Ensure patients receive a friendly, attentive service
- Dispense and label medication
- Assist with the day to day running of the dispensary
- Ordering and checking of received goods
- Advise patients regarding prescriptions and over the counter queries
- Support the delivery of professional services
- Overall development into a pharmacist
- Successfully undertaking the pre-registration exam
